Laser Strike Eyewear
Laser strikes on aircraft are increasing at an alarming rate. In 2015 there were approximately 7,700 laser strikes reported. The FAA estimates there will be more than 12,000 laser strikes reported this year. It’s time for aircrews to protect themselves. Phillips Safety Products has been protecting eyes for over 110 years and is now pleased to offer Laser Strike Eyewear, developed for US Military pilots. Our Laser Strike Eyewear employs a lightweight design that fits comfortably under headsets or helmets. We even offer a fitover model for prescription wearers. The unique polycarbonate lenses will not distort the instrumentation and provide protection from all three laser color spectrums. This same technology is now available to civilian pilots, as well.
Laser Strike Eyewear is being used by pilots around the world. Standard Operating Procedures have been developed by flight departments mandating Laser Strike Eyewear on all operations below 10,000 feet and on takeoffs and landings.
