Polymer Optical Filters

Phillips Safety is proud to offer an assortment of polymer optical filters. Optical filters are used to manipulate the passage of light both visible and invisible for various applications. There are cut, block and pass filters. These are divided into further categories of short pass, long pass and notch filters.

Here at Phillips Safety we offer a wide range of filters in both glass and polymers for these applications. When it comes to our polymer filters, we provide four different variations. They are laser scanner (coated or uncoated), acrylic UV transmission, acrylic NIR/near Infrared, and acrylic UV cut.

Laser Scanner Filters are used in both handheld and stationary laser scanners as you might find in the supermarket. They are used to enhance the sensitivity of the laser to read the barcodes. Plus, they protect the end user from harmful radiation. They are set for various wavelengths to accommodate the type of laser being used.

UV cut filters are used to block UV emissions and pass all others. There are five types of UV cut filters, from 370nm to 480nm. They are available with non-glare and scratch resistant coatings.

UV pass filters block all other wavelengths and pass only UV transmits ultraviolet (80% at 300nm). These offer excellent optical characteristics without double refraction, available with non-glare and scratch resistant coatings.

Finally, IR transmits NIR and blocks visible light. There are five types of NIR filters which transmit above 700nm to 820nm. They have excellent optical characteristics without double refraction available, with non-glare and scratch resistant coatings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What is optical filter?

Optical filters are devices that manipulate visible and invisible light. In the simplest form, they are used as plastic or glass planes that selectively transmit light of certain wavelengths. These are also used in the manufacturing of color displays, such as televisions and optical printers.

  • What materials are optical filters made of?

At Phillips Safety we offer optical filters in two different materials: glass and polymer. Our glass optical filters are available in over a dozen of filter variations, and our polymer filters are available in four.

  • How much do optical filters cost?

Our goal at Phillips Safety is to provide customers with optical filters that provide the highest quality. That being said, our optical filters vary according to your specifications, with many options to choose from several different materials. To request a quote, please click on the “Request a quote” button inside your desired product and fill in your information.

  • Where to buy optical filters?
